Abstract:Mountain resorts are located all over China.Though they share some characteristics, each one has characteristics of its own because their close relationship with history and religion.
Three important factors that influence the spatial competition of mountain resorts are the ranking, function and accessibility of the mountains.Unlike other types of tourist resorts, the at taction of one mountain resort can not be replaced by another.Therefore, some low-ranking and less famous mountains can develop very well within a certain appropriate scale.
Huangshan Mountain, Jiuhuashan Mountain and Qiyunshan Mountain are three famous mountain resorts in Southern Anhui Province.Huangshan Mountain ranks the first, Jiuhuashan Mountain the second and Qiyunshan Mountain the third.The tourism development of Qiyunshan Mountain is greatly restricted by Huangshan Mountain, and Jiuhuashan Mountain is less so but it is not easily accessible.Accordingly, Huangshan Mountain has tourists that are 3 times of those of Jiuhuashan Mountain, and 10 times of those of Qiyunshan Mountain.
In order to farther develop tourism in Jiuhuashan Mountain and Qiyunshan Mountain, Huangshan Mountain's negative influence are to be reduce.Jiuhuashan Mountain should strive for better accessibility and Qiyunshan Mountain should find ways to atttact tourists who stay in Huangshan City after visting Huangshan Mountain.
